Day 1, Fri: USA - Warsaw
Overnight departure to Warsaw. Enjoy your in-flight meals and entertainment.
Day 2 (D) Sat: Warsaw
Transfer to your five-star Hilton
Hotel. Meet your tour escort at 6:00 PM in the
hotel lobby to depart for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Afterwards, enjoy your evening Chopin concert in one of the
historical interiors of Warsaw. You will listen to the most famous works
of Frederic Chopin performed by the best pianist in a two-part recital,
with a glass of wine that will be served during the intermission.
Day 3 (B/D) Sun: Warsaw
A morning half day sightseeing tour of Warsaw, including the city
highlights, such as: the Old Town beautifully rebuilt after the WWII with
the impressive Royal Castle, the seat of kings of Poland. It was here that
the Third of May Constitution was promulgated in 1791, the second constitution
ever in the world, right after the United States. You will admire some
of the 300 rooms. All the interiors were carefully restored, and look like
it was centuries ago. You can see the Canaletto Room with 23 paintings
of his, the Throne Room, magnificent Knight's Hall with six large paintings
by Marcello Bacciarelli, the Marble Room with 22 portraits of Polish kings,
and the Ballroom - the largest and most impressive of all the castle's
chambers. Short break for a typical Polish doughnut (paczek) at the famous
Warsaw's cafe - "U Bliklego". Late afternoon drive to Zelazowa Wola, a
birthplace of Frederic Chopin. Visit the interiors of the manor house, now a
museum devoted to our great composer, where you will see memorabilia of Chopin
and his family. Afterwards, we invite you for a home-hosted dinner served by a
young artist couple who will welcome you in their charming wooden cottage in
Lowicz. Meet the family and enjoy the typical Polish hospitality. Drive back to your hotel for overnight.
Day 4 (B/L) Mon: Warsaw - Czestochowa
- Auschwitz - Wadowice - Krakow
A morning departure for Krakow. Drive
to Czestochowa to visit the Jasna Gora Monastery, the religious and spiritual
center of Poland, place of many pilgrimages coming from all over the world to see the world famous Black Madonna Picture. You will also visit
the Treasury Room with a collection of many precious gifts, received by
the monastery throughout the ages. Lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to Oswiecim for
Auschwitz-Birkenau
Memorial Tour, a former Nazi concentration camp, a silent witness of human
tragedy. Continue your drive to Krakow. Short stop in Wadowice, the birthplace
of Pope John Paul II. See the Wadowice Basilica and the house of our great Pole,
now a museum devoted to Karol Wojtyla. Accommodations at the five-star Crown
Piast Hotel Krakow.
Day 5 (B) Tue: Krakow
A guided sightseeing tour of the ancient capital of Poland, a royal
city on the Vistula river, lying at the foot of Wawel - a limestone hill
on whose peak rises a splendid royal palace and the cathedral church of
St. Waclaw and bishop Stanislaus. You will start with the Royal Castle
and Cathedral on the Wawel Hill, which were remodeled according to the
new Renaissance style at the beginning of the 16th century. It is the place
where Polish kings were crowned and buried here. Afterwards, drive to the
Old Town with the Main Market Square, magnificent houses and palaces. In
the middle of the square is the Cloth Hall built before 1349, but altered
in the 16th century, with many shopping stalls inside. Short break for a cake
and coffee at the famous Krakow cafe, "Jama Michalika", a place
designed by local artists, with beautiful painted glass windows and interesting
drawings. Afternoon at leisure to explore this magnificent city on your
own.
Day 6 (B/D) Wed: Krakow - Zakopane
A morning departure for Zakopane. A half day tour of Zakopane, beautifully located at the foot
of the Tatra Mountains, in the valley between Gubalowka and Giewont. It
is the most popular resort in Poland, and one of the most beautiful places,
thanks to its picturesque location and architecture, which blends in with
the natural landscape and involves characteristic elements of the local
style. Once a small mountain village, Zakopane became a fashionable and
popular resort at the beginning of the 20th century. You will see many beautiful wooden churches, each of them
with its own history. Afternoon on your own - time for shopping on the famous
Krupowki street, full of folk arts and crafts. Dinner at a local restaurant with folklore dances.

Day 7 (B/L/D) Thu: Zakopane - Wieliczka - Warsaw
A morning departure for Warsaw. En route stop in Wieliczka to see the oldest
operating Salt Mine in Europe. Visit the unique underground world
of salt lakes, galleries, chapels, and chambers, all carved in salt by
many generations of Polish miners. We can see up to 20 excavated chambers
on three levels, full of beautiful statues sculpted from salt, as well
as the Salt Works Museum. Light lunch will be served at a local inn. Afternoon drive
back to Warsaw. Accommodations at the Best Western Mazurkas
Hotel and
farewell dinner.
Day 8 (B) Fri: Warsaw - USA
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back home. As an
option, you can extend your stay in Warsaw or Krakow on individual basis.
Prices with airline tickets and transfers. Departure
taxes, security & fuel surcharges are additional $275-360.
